As part of a $9.5 million energy performance contract (Phase I) between Siemens Building Technologies and the City of Glens Falls, BCI provided all construction management and general contracting services for the Phase I project. The self performance work Per BCI included: Reconstruction on two 42’dia. X 25’deep sludge holding tanks by placing a new concrete base and walls within and a new concrete cover on top; new copper pumps, piping and contours within the sludge tank; two new sludge plunger pumps, piping and valves; and two new 3 meter belt filter presses with appurtenances. In addition, BCI managed the replacement of existing motors with new premium efficiency motors, the replacement of the fluidized bed incinerator 250HP motor, and a new SCADA control system.
All work was completed utilizing a phasing plan that kept the existing plant in service at all times.
