In the fall of 2005 BCI Construction, Inc. was selected to provide planning/program management, design and engineering management, budgeting, value engineering and ultimately the construction and renovation of an 80+ year old former shirt factory within the City of Albany that would become the flagship school and new home office of the Brighter Choice Foundation.
The $6.2 million dollar construction and renovation of this 4-story building included a complete gut renovation of its 40,000 square feet and incorporation of a 10,000 square foot addition.
116 North Lake Avenue is surrounded by one of the toughest neighborhoods in the City of Albany. Its renovation to a state of the art facility is a monumental contribution to the immediate neighborhood and to the community itself; that is to say nothing of the mission of the Brighter Choice Foundation and the impact that this school will have on so many lives that might never be the same as a result of attending the school.
