In response to an RFP issued by Schenectady County Department of Social Services, BCI worked closely with the building owner and their architect to propose the complete reconstruction of this existing facility to accommodate DSS.

The project included a complete gut/rehab of what was once a three-story manufacturing facility. Asbestos, lead and contaminated soil was encountered and remediated as part of the project, as well as the usual challenges encountered in converting an 80 year old building into a modern state-of-the-art office facility.

Although not scheduled to become LEED Certified, many of the “green” choices are implemented, resulting in a significant rebate from NYSERDA.
